1893
The Shelley Family has been in the soft drink business since 1893, starting out in the outback township of Broken Hill.

1927
Shelley’s Soft Drinks moved to Marrickville and continued manufacturing beverages

1968
The Shelley Family moved the business to Taren Point Sydney where Albert “Bert” Shelley along with his sons Arthur and Denis established Berts Soft Drinks.

1970's
Berts Soft Drinks entered the route market distributing soft drinks to all local, schools, sporting grounds, service stations fruit markets and small businesses.

1980's
Berts Soft Drinks introduces to its business contract packing, whereby customers would bring their own formulations or use Berts original recipes and manufacture beverages under their own branding.

1990's
Berts Soft Drinks are still following some of the traditional recipes in our soft drinks dating back to 1893. The Berts range includes Traditional soft drinks (Orange, Lemonade, Creaming soda, Pineapple and Snowette), Old Tavern Ginger Beer, Lite drinks (45% less sugar), Club Range (Lemon Lime and Bitters, Tonic Water, Soda Water and Bitter Lemon), Exotic Range (Blood Orange, Pink Grapefuit, Apple & Elderflower, Golden Mango), Diet drinks, Still and Sparkling Mineral Water.

2000's
Berts Soft Drinks ceased production of returnable bottles and returnable green crates.

2010
Berts Soft Drinks are still following some of the traditional recipes in our soft drinks dating back to 1893. The Berts range includes Lemonade, Pineapple, Snowette, Orange, Creaming Soda, Ginger Beer and more.
2018
Berts Soft Drinks proudly celebrates 50 years in business and 50 years in the Sutherland Shire.


2025
Berts Soft Drinks is now Managed by the 5th generation of the Shelley’s Family and is one of a few independent soft drink manufactures remaining in Sydney.
